The Chappy Hardcore Story

I am currently studying International Tourism Management at Leeds Metropolitan University until 2010. In the meantime i spend alot of my time listening to music, 'Spinning Plastic' in my flat, and going out clubbing with friends etc.

I have been in love with Hardcore since Bonkers 3, my older brother used to buy the bonkers CD's and Cassettes with his pocket money, and when Scouse House/Donk became popular in 2000 (when Hardcore went through its rough patch) he gave them all to me. I stayed loyal and followed it into its Revolution from Happy to its current style, and began to DJ it in 2004 with 'Homemix CD Decks.'

My DJ name is basically my nickname Chappy with Hardcore on the end, it rhymes with Happy Hardcore so i left it at that. I used to spin Trance and House (old Scouse House) at parties, but began Hardcore late on even though i listened to it extensively. My first hardcore vinyl was M-Project - Cherry in 2005, i was so desperate for it i got it on vinyl, so i saved up bought some £200 belt drives and started my collection. Mixes, Powerplastic 1, 2 and 3 were made within a year later and now i have upgraded my equipment to begin a new stretch of mix-production.

My first mixes were MP3 mixes using Traktor DJ Studio 2, and i created 'From the Underground with Love' and 'Lighten Up' without the ability to cue, never the less i submitted them to Happyhardcore.com/DI.FM and they got circulated/played.

Now i'm a resident of the Global Hardcore Alliance, looking for new styles and to work with some promising DJ's who are rising through the ranks of Real World and Internet recognition.
