The MrPanda Story

I started off in the scene back in '02,and I've been to hundreds of parties. The rave scene as a whole was a major life decision for me. The philosophy behind living by "PLUR" was probably one of the hardest life choices to make and stick to. On the flipside it was also one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. I honestly believe that everybody has something that they can contribute to the world around them in a positive manner, they just have to find out what it is and how to apply it.

I was first introduced to happy hardcore in like '99 when I was in 6th grade. Believe it or not the track was "Stealth- Love, Life and Happiness" and I think the other track was "Stealth- See Me Climb". Gotta admit, I thought it was some of the most obnoxious crazyness ever, until I quit focusing on the actual musical elements of it and just payed attention to the feeling that it gave me when I heard it. After that I was totally hooked. Went out and purchased Happy 2b Hardcore chapter 3 by Anabolic Frolic, and kept up with them till the end of the series with chapter 7. I also picked up the Happy 2b Hardcore Foundation series to go with it. To me it was a genre that moved as fast as I did, none of that 120-130bpm boringness.

I've watched hardcore grow and develop as a genre almost my whole life, and I love what it has grown into and the vast array of sounds and colors that people have been able to produce and get out there.

I started learning to mix in October of '06 with Drum N Bass at a friends apartment, and was completely fascinated by the intricacies actually involved in the process. I couldn't stop toying with those tables and buttons and knobs.....I just couldn't. I had found something that could hold my attention for days at a time and decided to stick with it.

I picked up my first set of tables (Pioneer cdj 200s) and a mixer (Pioneer djm400) the following month and haven't stopped since.

My current setup is 2 Pioneer cdj 1000mk3's, still have the djm 400, and I picked up a Yamaha Audiogram6 pre-amp since the 400 doesn't have one built in.

For a sound system I have 2 M-audio Studiophile Deluxe Bx8a's for my tops, with a JBL LSR 2310 powered subwoofer for the low end.
