The Sivan Story
Hey, my name is Siyab. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and was about 1 when my family moved to the United States to live in New York. Soon after we moved to St. Louis, Missouri where I lived most of my life. Now, I'm 17 and live in Colorado Springs, Co. I attend high school, and plan on going to college to study business/marketing, or even something in music.
1999 was the year I first heard dance music. The artist was ATB and the CD was Movin' Melodies. The CD opened my eyes to the dance music scene. It wasn't until about 2 weeks later I found 'Happy 2B Hardcore Vol. 3' laying around my house. I put the CD in and was once again...suprised to hear this genre of music. The pace was a lot faster and it gave off a more happier vibe. Those two CDs I listened to non-stop.
Eventually I drifted away from the dance music scene and shifted towards the American mainstream music. Although I still had some Trance and Hardcore in my music collection, I rarely listented to it. Throughout Elementary and Middle school I listented to a lot of Alternative rock. In my second year of High School, right when I had turned 16, I kept thinking about all the times I used to listen to ATB, so I went on Youtube and searched 'ATB Live'. I think that momment changed my life. His track 'ecstasy' was a major hit for me. For the next 3 hours I was Youtubing ATBs biggest tracks, and enjoyed every single one. That week my music playlist exploded with Dance music. I was so occupied with Trance I completetly forgot about Happy Hardcore. I began to Youtube, and get Happy Hardcore which was now known as UK Hardcore. Within about 2 months almost all the Rock and Rap on my ipod was gone, and 95% of my music was now Trance & UK Hardcore.
My interest in DJing didn't begin until mid 2008 when I started to hear mixes on DI.FM/Happyhardcore radio. So I got myself Virtual DJ and started to practice based off what I knew. I enjoyed mixing Hardcore because of the faster pace and the rush it gave off. I practiced more and more each day until I could finally get a perfect mix down. I started my own radio station, and mixed for about 10 friends each week. I hold great appreciation for them and DJs such as DJ Roflz for all the help and support they've given me. Without them, I don't think I would have come as far as I have in such a short amount of time. I think it's safe to say that music is a big part of my life and will stay that was for long time.
